# AI image generator plugin, right in the WordPress media window

The APC Editorial **Add Image with AI** add-on adds a tab to the WordPress media window: you describe the image, AI creates it, the plugin converts it to a light format and stores it in your Media Library with alt text. Then you use it right there, in the middle of your text.

[Download free for 30 days](https://jode.io/#community)[See the step by step](https://jode.io/docs/ai-images/#add-image-with-ai)

- Classic editor, block editor and Elementor

- Comes out in WebP or AVIF

- With alt text written by AI

In short

Add Image with AI creates images for the **middle of your content**, such as illustrations, scenes and concept images, without leaving the editor. You write what the image should show, click generate and use the result at once, already **light**, with a **name** and **alt text**.

It is different from the featured image: here the image goes where you opened the media window, such as an image block or an Elementor widget, and stays stored in your Media Library to use again.

Images in your content

## The right image keeps the reader.

Long text with no image at all is tiring. An image in the right place breaks up the text, explains an idea and can even bring visits from Google image search.

In its image SEO best practices, Google asks for the image to sit near the text about the same subject, for the file to have a name that describes the image and for the alt text to explain what it shows. It also recommends light files, because a heavy image makes the page slow.

A stock photo is quick, but it repeats the same scene your competitors use and rarely matches the paragraph's subject. An image created with AI for that passage shows exactly what the text explains, in your brand colors.

| What counts | Why it matters | In Add Image with AI |
| --- | --- | --- |

| The passage's subject | The image backs up what the paragraph explains. | You describe the scene in What should the image show? |

| File name | A name made of words tells Google what the image is about. | The Image name becomes the file name and the title in the Media Library. |

| Alt text | It describes the image to screen readers and to search. | Written by AI, in the output language. |

| Weight | A light image doesn't slow the page down. | Converted to WebP or AVIF before it enters the library. |

| Visual identity | The same colors across the site make the brand recognizable. | Brand colors and logo, if you want them. |

What you ask the AI

## Describe it as you would to an illustrator.

AI draws what you write. The clearer the description, the closer the image gets to what you pictured. A good description usually says:

- **The subject and the scene:** who or what appears, doing what.

- **The style:** realistic photo, editorial illustration, simple icon.

- **The light and the colors:** natural light, blue tones, light background.

- **What must not appear:** no text, no other brands' logos.

If the image carries any text, it comes out in the add-on's Output language, the same as the alt text.

What it does

## From description to image in your text.

A tab in the media window to create, and a tab in the plugin to choose models, language and format.

### In the usual media window

The APC - Add Image with AI tab shows up in the classic editor, the block editor, widgets and the site editor included, and in Elementor.

### Describe and generate

Write in What should the image show? and click Generate image. Once it's ready, pick Use this image or Regenerate.

### A name that helps SEO

The Image name becomes the file name and the title in the Media Library. Left empty, the plugin makes a name from your description.

### Your brand, remembered

In Image settings, set brand colors, size, quality and logo. What you use becomes the default for the next image.

### Light, at the exact size

The image comes out at the width and height you set (900 × 660 px by default) and is converted to WebP or AVIF, with its own Image format & quality card.

### Alt text included

An Anthropic model writes each image's alt text, following accessibility best practices, in the Output language you choose.

No surprises

## Every paid image reaches your site.

Creating an image takes a few minutes, and each one is billed to your account. That is why the add-on makes sure no paid image gets lost along the way:

- **Clicked twice?** While an image is being created for that post, a new click follows the same image instead of paying for another.

- **Closed the window by accident?** Open the media window again right away: the plugin picks up the image you started.

- **Stored to use again:** the image enters the Media Library like any other. If the place where you opened the window doesn't accept its format, it stays there.

- **Honest alt text:** if the alt text can't be written, it stays empty with a notice, never a copy of the title.

Step by step

## Your first image in 4 steps.

The models, the language and the format live in the plugin's Add Image with AI tab and apply to the whole installation.

### Turn the add-on on

In Global Settings › Add-ons/Tools, turn on Add Image with AI and click Save.

### Save the 2 keys

In Global Settings, the OpenAI key creates the image and the Anthropic key writes the alt text. Without both, nothing is sent.

### Pick model and format

In the Add Image with AI tab, pick the Image model, the Output language and, under Image format & quality, WebP or AVIF.

### Create in the editor

Open the media window as usual, go to the APC - Add Image with AI tab, describe the image and click Generate image.

The step by step with every screen is in the [AI images docs](https://jode.io/docs/ai-images/#add-image-with-ai).

FAQ

## Questions about AI images in WordPress.

### How do I generate an image with AI inside WordPress?

With the add-on on, open the media window in the editor, go to the APC - Add Image with AI tab, write what the image should show and click Generate image. When it is ready, click Use this image.

### Does it work in Elementor and the block editor?

Yes. The tab shows up in the media window of Elementor, the block editor, widgets and the site editor included, and the classic editor. It doesn't appear on the Media Library screen or the posts list, which don't put images into content.

### How is it different from the Featured image - AI add-on?

[Featured image - AI](https://jode.io/addons-tools/ai-featured-image-generator/) creates the image that represents the post, from the posts list and the featured image panel. Add Image with AI creates images for the middle of the text. Each one has its own settings.

### How much does each image cost?

The cost goes to your own accounts: the image to OpenAI and the alt text to Anthropic. It depends on the model and on the Image quality: higher quality costs more. Every image shows up with its cost in its own section of the [AI Cost History](https://jode.io/addons-tools/ai-cost-tracking/).

### Is the generated image saved on my site?

Yes. It enters the Media Library like any image, with its name, title and alt text, and you can use it again in other posts.

### Can I put my company's logo in the image?

Yes. In Image settings, pick your logo under Logo / brand image (optional) and the AI image incorporates it. The Brand colors make the image use your palette.

### Do I need to keep the window open while the image is created?

That is best: the image shows up there when it is ready. If you close the window or reload the editor by accident, open the media window again right away and the plugin picks up the image you started.

### What language is the alt text in?

In the Output language of the add-on's tab. Left empty, it follows the output language in Global Settings and, after that, the site's language.
