Google Search Console plugin with your numbers inside WordPress
The APC Editorial Search Console add-on brings Google's impressions, clicks, CTR and average position inside WordPress, always with Before | Now on screen. The whole site is free; each article, plan and project is PRO.
- Whole domain for free
- Read-only access
- Up to 24 months kept
In short
The Search Console add-on connects your Google account to WordPress and shows, inside the plugin, the impressions, clicks, CTR and average position Google recorded for your site, always with Before | Now. The whole-domain block is free; the numbers for each article, plan and project are PRO.
The numbers are stored on your own site, so the screens open right away, without waiting for Google on every click. You don't need to cross spreadsheets or open Search Console to know whether the site grew.

The 4 metrics
What each Search Console number actually means.
The impression comes before the click: first Google shows the page, then someone clicks. That is why the plugin always shows impressions first.
| Number | What it measures | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Impressions | How many times a link to your site appeared to someone in Google's results. | Shows whether Google is taking the page to more searches. It is the first sign that a new article has started to show up. |
| Clicks | How many times someone clicked the result and reached your site. | It is the visit that came from Google's organic search. |
| CTR | Clicks ÷ impressions. E.g.: 1,711 clicks on 45,162 impressions give 3.8%. | A low CTR at a good position usually calls for a better title or description. The change shows in percentage points. |
| Average position | Where the site shows up in the results, on average. The search with more impressions weighs more. | A lower number is better: 1 is the top. Position 2 with 900 impressions and 12 with 100 give 3.0, not 7. The plugin says Improved or Worsened. |
Why compare periods. A number on its own doesn't tell you whether the site is growing. That is why every number shows with Before | Now and the change. Compare with the Previous period to see the effect of a new article, or with the Same period last year when your subject is seasonal, such as tax returns or back to school.
Google's delay. Search Console delivers each day a few days late: in the plugin, the numbers stop 3 or 4 days before today. And Google itself only keeps the last 16 months. The plugin imports those 16 months the first time and then keeps up to 24 months, so over time you see further back than in Search Console itself.
What it does
The whole site's Search Console, in one block.
The Search Console tab takes care of the connection and the import. The numbers show up in the Search Console — domain block, in the Projects tab.
Read-only connection
Connect Search Console asks Google for read-only permission. Then, under Search Console property, click Use this property.
16 months, then every night
The first import brings the last 16 months. New days arrive every night, and the Stored history shows how many of the 24 months are already on the site.
4 cards with Before | Now
Impressions, clicks, CTR and average position, each with the before number, the now number and the change. A number with too little volume shows in grey, so you don't draw conclusions from almost nothing.
Any period
Ready periods of 7 and 28 days and of 3, 6 and 12 months. In Customize, pick the Period you want to see and what to compare it with.
What explains the change
The pages that gained and lost the most impressions in the period, and the Pages by position band: from the Top 3 to beyond page 2.
One line per page
The home page, the pages, old posts and articles made outside APC. Addresses Google separates for the same page, with an anchor, a trailing slash or www, count as one page.
No made-up numbers
Numbers you can trust.
A report that makes up zeros misleads. That is why the plugin follows simple rules:
- A day Google didn't deliver stays missing, never zero. If a day is missing in the period or in the comparison, the comparison doesn't show, so no change comes out wrong.
- The domain's 4 cards are the site's totals, the same as in Search Console. The per-page list can add up to a little less, because Google leaves out rare searches when it splits by page.
- Little volume shows in grey: with small numbers in both periods, the change is still noise, not a trend, and the screen says so.
- Nothing changes in your Search Console: access is read-only, and the numbers show only inside your WordPress.
On PRO
The performance of every article.
On PRO, the add-on is called Search Console on the theme cards and goes down to every article the plugin wrote:
- Theme card: the article's numbers and the real searches that bring it, each with Before | Now.
- Plan, project and all projects: the sum of the articles, with a line of numbers for each project and plan in the tree. An article in 2 plans counts only once.
- Opportunities: Reinforce this article with a real search, See the theme that already has that keyword or Add to the plan a new theme.
- Is it on Google? A published article with no impressions yet is checked against Google's index once a day, with the reason when it isn't there.
Step by step
Connect Search Console in 4 steps.
The add-on comes off. Once it is on, connecting takes a few minutes and the import carries on by itself.

FAQ
Questions about Search Console in WordPress.
Does the plugin change anything in my Search Console?
No. Google asks for read-only permission: the plugin reads the numbers and never changes anything in your account. The numbers show only inside your WordPress.
Are the numbers the same as in Search Console?
The domain's 4 cards are the site's totals, the same as in Search Console. The per-page list can add up to a little less, because Google leaves out rare searches when it splits by page. And adding up the articles doesn't give the site total: 2 of your pages in the same search count as 1 impression for the site.
Why don't yesterday's numbers show up yet?
Because Google delivers each day late. In the plugin, the numbers stop 3 or 4 days before today, and new days arrive every night. A day Google hasn't delivered yet stays missing, never zero.
How much history can I see?
The first import brings the last 16 months, which is all Google keeps. After that, the plugin keeps up to 24 months on your site, so over time you see further back than in Search Console itself.
What does "No data in the period" mean on a keyword?
That Google recorded no impressions for it on those days: nobody searched. A well-ranked keyword drops out of the report when there are no searches, so it doesn't mean a bad position.
Does it work on the free plan?
Yes. On Free you connect, import and see the numbers for the whole domain, with no site limit. The numbers for each article, plan and project, the opportunities and Is it on Google? are PRO, with 30 days free. See the plans and pricing.
Can I request indexing for an article from the plugin?
No. Google doesn't offer indexing requests outside Search Console. On PRO, Is it on Google? shows whether the article is in the index and the reason when it isn't, and the Inspect the address in Search Console link opens that address's inspection so you can make the request there. For Bing and other search engines, IndexNow notifies them on every publish.
Do I need an AI key?
No. You only need to connect your Google account. The only AI part is the Classify keyword searches using AI button, on PRO, which uses your Anthropic key and only runs when you click it.
