IndexNow plugin for WordPress: tell Bing every time you publish
The APC Editorial IndexNow add-on tells Bing and other search engines the moment you publish, update or unpublish a post, without sending what is noindex. Free, on from the start, and the notice goes straight from your site.
- Free forever
- Automatic notice on publish
- Never sends noindex
In short
IndexNow is an open protocol that tells search engines the moment a page on your site changes. The APC Editorial IndexNow add-on sends that notice on its own for every post you publish, update or unpublish, and lets you send addresses by hand whenever you like.
It is part of APC Editorial, but it works on its own: you don't need to generate articles, it uses no AI and it asks for no search engine account.

The protocol
IndexNow: the search engine finds out right away.
Without a notice, a search engine only learns that a page changed when it crawls the site again, which can take a while. With IndexNow, the site tells it at that very moment.
IndexNow was launched in 2021 by Microsoft Bing and Yandex as an open standard. The site proves it owns the domain with a key and, on every change, sends the list of new, updated or removed addresses. The search engines that take part in the protocol share the notice among themselves: tell one, tell them all.
It is worth being clear about 2 limits. First, Google doesn't use IndexNow: it keeps finding pages through crawling and the sitemap, and you follow your presence on Google with the Search Console add-on. Second, the notice doesn't guarantee indexing: it tells the search engine something changed, and the search engine decides whether and when to index it.
| Search engine | Gets IndexNow? | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft Bing | Yes | Bing's index also feeds Microsoft's AI assistants, such as Copilot. |
| Yandex | Yes | One of the protocol's creators. |
| Seznam | Yes | The Czech Republic's search engine. |
| Naver | Yes | South Korea's most used search engine. |
| No | Finds pages through crawling and the sitemap. |
The plugin sends a single notice, and the protocol passes it on to every participating search engine.
What it does
Everything IndexNow does for you.
A tab of its own to set it up and follow it, and a box on each post to decide case by case.
A key made for you
In IndexNow Settings, the key that proves the site is yours comes ready, with no file for you to upload. Check key confirms search engines can read it.
A notice on every change
Published, updated a published post or took a post down? The address goes to IndexNow on its own, so the search engine reads the new version or drops the old one.
You choose the types
In Auto-submit post types, tick what should go on its own. Every public type comes ticked; media and Elementor templates never go in.
A box on each post
The APC Editorial — IndexNow box holds that post's Automatic submission, in the classic editor, the block editor and Elementor. The post type only decides how it starts.
Sending by hand
In Submit URLs manually, tick addresses under From my site or use Paste URLs, one per line, up to 10,000 per submission. You can also list the posts edited in a date range.
A history of every submission
The Submission history splits the Automatic submissions from the Manual submissions, with each one's response, such as OK or Invalid key.
No wrong notice
It only announces what should be found.
Asking a search engine to read a page the site itself says to hide helps no one. That is why the add-on follows what your site has already decided:
- Noindex is never sent. If Yoast, Rank Math, AIOSEO or SEOPress keeps the post out of search, through the post itself, its post type or the whole site, it doesn't go to IndexNow, even with the box on. Each SEO plugin is read with its own rules.
- The box says why and keeps its value, so nothing is lost once the noindex goes.
- Hidden site, paused IndexNow. With WordPress set to discourage indexing, in Settings › Reading, nothing is sent, not even by hand.
- The editor never waits: the notice goes out after WordPress saves, and the same address is never sent twice for a single save.
- Only this site's addresses go into a submission, and nothing goes through jode.io.

FAQ
Questions about IndexNow in WordPress.
Does Google use IndexNow?
No. Google finds pages through crawling and the sitemap. IndexNow notifies Bing, Yandex, Seznam, Naver and the other search engines that take part in the protocol. To follow Google, use the Search Console add-on.
Does an IndexNow notice guarantee the page gets indexed?
No. The notice tells the search engine the page changed, and it decides whether and when to index it. The advantage is that it finds out right away, without waiting for its next visit to the site.
Do I need a Bing account or an API key?
No. The IndexNow key is created by the plugin itself and proves the site is yours. You only need to sign in with your jode.io account, which is free. Change the key, with Change key, only if it leaks.
Does the plugin send pages marked noindex?
Never. If your SEO plugin (Yoast, Rank Math, AIOSEO or SEOPress) keeps the post out of search, it doesn't go to IndexNow, even with the box on. The box shows the reason, such as "This content is set to noindex in Yoast SEO".
When is a post sent on its own?
When it is published, on every update while it is published and when it goes offline, if its Automatic submission is on. It starts on for the post types ticked in the tab, and you change it post by post in the editor.
Does IndexNow slow down the site or the editor?
No. Notices only go out when a post is saved, never when a visitor opens the site, and in the editor the notice goes out after WordPress saves, with no waiting for you. Saves in a row don't repeat the same address.
Does it work with Elementor and the block editor?
Yes. The APC Editorial — IndexNow box shows up in the classic editor, in the block editor's panel and in Elementor's page settings, and all 3 show the same value.
What if the key check fails?
The plugin says what it found. If the key file can't be found, a cache layer, a CDN or a security plugin may be blocking .txt files: allow the key's address and click Check key again.
